Materials Radio

Call for ‘Materials Radio’ Podcasts from

Material Advantage Student Chapters

$500 awarded for each podcast accepted

Next contest: Fall 2008

ASM International has started Materials Radio, a series of podcasts on materials and their uses for middle school students. This program was part of the K-12 education committee’s desire to help middle school students, parents and teachers learn more about the world of materials and their importance to everyone.

As part of our strategic objective to bring materials outreach to future engineers and scientists, ASM is asking its newest members -- University student Material Advantage members -- to pass along their knowledge of materials by creating short audio programs that are informative, entertaining and easy to understand.

$500 will be given for each podcast accepted for Materials Radio by a Material Advantage Student Chapter. Multiple applications from each student chapter are encouraged. Applications will be reviewed and chosen by the Materials Radio Selection Committee and winners will be selected based on professionalism and creativity.
