Professional Chapter Benefits

  • Networking - Some members build personal networks for problem-solving purposes; others, for growing their list of business acquaintances and sales contacts. Either way, you’ll meet the people you need to know in your materials community.
  • Professional Advancement - These days, getting ahead depends as much on your communication and organizational skills as it does on your technical abilities. Chapter committees--such as technical programming, membership recruitment, education seminars and publicity—can help you gain practical management experience that will help you rise in your organization.
  • Leadership Development - From chapter officers to committee chairs, chapters provide a wide variety of roles that can help you develop and improve your leadership skills. In addition, EDFAS brings new chapter officers together every year during Leadership Days in August. This educational and networking event, held at EDFAS' Headquarters in Materials Park, helps new officers assume their new duties by providing proven techniques for the smooth management of their chapters.
  • EDFAS Updates - Being involved in a professional chapter means staying up to date on society activities, such as conferences, workshops and publications, which keeps you informed of industry developments and trends.
