About TSS

Founded in 1994, the ASM Thermal Spray Society has grown to a membership of approximately 1,500 individuals around the globe representing over 500 leading companies, research institutions and universities.

The Thermal Spray Society operates according to our vision statement: “To be the leading global source for thermal spray information – TSS, Your Thermal Spray Information Partner.” To accomplish this mission, the TSS Board of Directors is focused on the following objectives:

  • Increase membership in existing/new segments
  • Enhance corporate visibility/value proposition
  • Enhance value proposition for members through new products and services
  • Engage industry/academic leaders in society
  • Increase outreach to promote thermal spray technology outside our own industry
  • Increase global exposure
  • Ensure financial stability
  • Refine society leadership succession planning

 Thermal Spray Hall of Fame

The Thermal Spray Hall of Fame was established in 1993 to recognize the many outstanding leaders who have made significant contributions to the science, practice, education, management and advancement of thermal spray.

Nominations for the Class of Inductees into the ASM Thermal Spray Hall of Fame are accepted until 30 September of the preceding year. Candidates may be proposed by any five TSS members or any of the working groups, committees, subcommittees or other duly recognized bodies within the TSS.
